The Barnes County Highway Department is responsible for the efficient planning, design, construction and maintenance of roads, bridges and culverts within the County of Barnes.  The Department provides for the overall management, direction, coordination and budgeting for approximately 330 miles of County black top and gravel roads.  There are 20 full-time employees and 3 part-time seasonal employees on staff.

Seasonal Road Restrictions will be in place effective at 7:00 AM on April 4th, 2023. Loads are restricted to 6 ton per axle with the exception of county road 17s (old #1) which is restricted to NO Trucks. Please see official map for details and exceptions.
